New Judicial Measures in the Gulistan Doku Case

The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Erzurum has initiated proceedings against 11 suspects in the Gulistan Doku case, Including retired and serving police officers, on charges of concealing evidence and interfering in the investigation.

News Center_ Gulistan Doku was killed under mysterious circumstances in 2023 after her body was found, amid suspicions of security interference in the course of the investigation. The incident sparked a wave of widespread criticism that pushed authorities to open investigations involving retired and serving police officers.

Within the framework of the investigation into the Gulistan Doku case, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Erzurum has begun proceedings against 11 suspects, including retired and serving police officers, on charges of "concealing evidence and interfering in the investigation process."

In a simultaneous detention, search, and seizure operation carried out in 7 cities, 4 of the detainees were arrested, and one person was released under judicial supervision. It was reported that proceedings concerning the six detained suspects are still ongoing. With these latest arrests, the number of detainees in custody pending investigation has reached 36 people.
