More than 10,000 people evacuated due to floods in Kazakhstan
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan announced Sunday that more than 10,000 people, including 5,101 children, were evacuated in seven regions, due to floods caused by rapid melting of snow.
News Center- 10,587 people including 5,101 children, were evacuated in Kazakhstan’s Turkestan, Aktyubinsk, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Ulytau and Abay regions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan said in a statement on Sunday.
5,497 people, including 1,739 children live in temporary residence centers, the statement said.
According to Kazakh authorities, the current floods in the country are the largest in recent years and more than 400 residential buildings have been flooded in seven regions of the country.
