Melek İpek sends her greetings from prison

Melek İpek, who killed her husband Ramazan İpek in self-defense, sent her greetings to everyone in solidarity with her through her lawyer.
News Center- Melek İpek killed her husband Ramazan İpek in self-defense and she was arrested. She has faced life imprisonment. Melek İpek, who has been held in Döşemealtı L Type Prison in Antalya province, sent a message from prison through her lawyer Ahmet Onaran. Melek sent her greeting to everyone in solidarity with her.
“I read the letters in tears”
Lawyer Ahmet Onaran gave information about the conversations with his client. Melek told him, “I read your letters in tears. I try to answer all of them. Please send my greetings to those who sent me letters. I haven't faced any violence for 27 days. My daughters feel better because I am here (not subjected to any violence).”
The prosecutor said “it was not self-defense”
Melek İpek was subjected to violence by her husband and she received death threats many times from him. Melek killed him in self-defense but the prosecutor prepared an indictment against her and stated that she didn’t kill her husband in self-defense. The prosecutor demanded Melek to be charged with first-degree murder and to be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Many women’s organizations launched campaigns for Melek and demand Melek İpek to be released.
