KJAR: Our people must organize stronger

“The people of Shengal now protect themselves thanks to the ideology and philosophy of Abdullah Öcalan,” the East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR) said in a statement, marking the 10th anniversary of the Yazidi genocide.

News Center- The East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR) has issued a written statement to mark the 10th anniversary of the genocide committed by ISIS against the Yazidi community on August 3,2014.

The Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) fled when ISIS started attacking Shengal, the statement said. “The withdrawal of the Peshmerga forces revealed the true face and betrayal of the Barzani family once again. The Yazidi Kurds were subjected to a painful genocide, aiming at annihilating all Yazidi Kurds. The freedom guerrillas of Kurdistan waged a historical resistance and struggle against ISIS that affected the whole world. Their resistance inspired everyone. The fascist and occupying Turkish regime led by Erdoğan attempted to annihilate the Yazidi Kurds by using ISIS. However, its plans and policies failed when the freedom guerillas of Kurdistan arrived in Shengal.”

‘Yazidi women woke up to a morning full of hope and laughter’

The Yazidi people decided to resist thanks to the ideology and philosophy of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and responded to the fascism of Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, the betrayal of Barzani and the brutality of ISIS by organizing themselves and resisting, the statement said, recalling that ISIS targeted Yazidi women the most, killing, raping them and selling them in slave markets.

“Despite everything, the Yazidi Kurds never lost their hope. On the contrary, they began to organize themselves in all facets of life, including social life, politics and military thanks to the historical resistance of the YJA Star and HPG guerrillas and the ideology and philosophy of leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan). They formed their own defense forces, YBŞ-YJŞ. These forces have played an important role in rescuing Yazidi women. Thanks to them, Yazidi women woke up to a morning full of hope and laughter.”

‘Our people must organize stronger’

Despite all the Turkish attacks, the people of Shengal protect themselves. “The people of Shengal and Yazidi women should know very well that the enemy will use all kinds of methods to annihilate the Yazidi people. Therefore, our people must organize themselves stronger and educate themselves,” the statement said, stressing that women have a history full of experience, culture, politics, identity and many gains. “We have the capacity to decorate the whole world with freedom. We all must make great efforts to do this.”
