News Center- Jinnews, an all-women news agency based in Amed (Diyarbakır, has released its November report on femicide by compiling news from local and national newspapers, news websites and news agencies.

The report said that women were targeted by both the government and men while growing their solidarity with each other. “There was an increase in gender-based violence in the cities affected by the February 6 earthquakes. Due to the lack of mechanisms preventing violence, the survivors of violence could not make their voices heard,” the report said.

In November, 36 women and six children were killed, 23 more women died under suspicious circumstances in Turkey, according to the report. The report also said that of the 36 killed in November, 14 women were killed by their husbands.
