News Center- Gülten Akgül, a political prisoner, was released from Şakran Women’s Closed Prison in Izmir on Monday after 31 years in prison.

Gülten Akgül was expected to be released from prison on June 19, 2024 and February 19, 2025; however, her release was postponed although she had already served 30 years in prison.

The members of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) and the Association for Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners and Convicts (TUHAYDER) welcomed Gülten Akgül in front of the prison.
