Ghazal Marzban ends her hunger strike in Evin prison

Ghazal Marzhan, A Christian convert imprisoned in Evin Prison, reportedly ended her hunger strike on Saturday.

News Center- Ghazal Marzban, a Christian convert imprisoned in Evin Prison, who started a hunger strike on December 24, 2024 in protest against the continuation of her detention and her unresolved legal status, reportedly ended her hunger strike on Saturday.

Ms. Marzban, who converted to Catholic Christianity, was arrested near Valiasr Street in Tehran on November 5, 2024, for chanting anti-regime slogans. Being held at the Vozara Detention Center for two days, she was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison. Since then, she has been held in Evin prison. She was recently tried by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “appearing in public without observing mandatory hijab.”

On December 24, 2024, she started a hunger strike in protest against the continuation of her detention and her unresolved legal status.
