Charges filed against 5 women for protesting femicides

Five women have faced a criminal charge for hanging a banner on the fence of AKP Ankara Provincial building in order to protest the increase femicides in Turkey.
Ankara – On December 30, 2020, University Women's Collective (ÜKK) members hanged a banner on a fence of the AKP Ankara Provincial building in order to draw attention to the increase femicides. After the protests, women were taken into custody. Buse Üçer, a member of the Women's Defense Network, was detained for reacting to detention of women on her social media account and a criminal charge was filed against her.
Four members of the University Women's Collective (ÜKK) hanged a banner to protest the detention of Buse Üçer. Another criminal charge has been filed against four women.
