News Center- Protests sparked in different cities of Israel when the deaths of six hostages were announced on Sunday, calling for a hostage release deal.

According to the reports, Israeli police used water cannons to disperse protesters and arrested many protesters in Tel Aviv on Monday.

The hostages were identified as Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi and Master Sgt Ori Danino.

The six hostages were among some 250 people seized by Hamas militants on October 7, 2023.

Histadrut, the General Organization of Workers in Israel, calls for a one-day general strike on Monday to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to bring back Israeli hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza.

The general strike is expected to affect Israel’s vital sectors and key facilities, including Ben Gurion International Airport, education, public transportation and health sectors.
