Attack on observers of Green Left Party in Uludere
In Uludere’s Şenoba town, Metin Babat and Ömer Babat, sons of former village guard Şehmus Babat, attacked the observers of the Green Left Party for not allowing them to cast their votes openly.
News Center- The observers of the Green Left Party (YSP) were attacked by Metin Babat and Ömer Babat, sons of Şehmus Babat, former head of village guards, in the Sêgirkê (Şenoba) town of Şırnak’s Uludere district.
According to the local sources, Metin Babat casted his vote openly in the polling room of the Feyzi Türkeri Elementary School . Therefore, the observers of the Green Left Party warned him not to cast his vote openly. However, the observers were attacked by Metin Babat and Ömer Babat.
Tension continues
Metin Babat and Ömer Babat battered and threatened two observers. After the incident, many soldiers and police officers were sent to the school. The executives of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and the Green Left Party also went to school; however, they were subjected to threats and insults by the Babat family. The tension at the school reportedly continues.
