At least 19 children have been killed by a suspected measles outbreak in Nigeria's northeastern state of Adamawa, local authorities reported on Saturday.

More than 200 children have been suspected to have been affected by the measles outbreak in the district of Mubi North, said Felix Tangwami, the commissioner for health in Adamawa. According to Felix Tangwami, the outbreak led to a quick mobilization of medics and drugs to affected communities.
He also said that children with severe infections would be referred to hospitals.
