News Center — The intensifying surveillance at border crossings between Syria and Lebanon reflects growing security measures, with repeated detention incidents recorded during irregular crossing attempts, further exacerbating families' fears regarding restrictions on movement between the two countries.

The Syrian-Lebanese border witnessed a new detention incident, as border guard forces arrested a Syrian woman and her three children while they were attempting to cross into Lebanon through one of the crossings near the town of Al-Qusayr in the southern countryside of Homs, according to what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today, Monday, July 20.

The Observatory explained that, in a similar incident that occurred approximately fifteen days ago, a Syrian young man was detained in the same area during his attempt to enter Lebanese territory through irregular means, reflecting increasingly stringent security measures along the border strip and raising families' concerns over growing restrictions on crossing movements.
