Afghan women have published videos of themselves on social media, singing songs against the Taliban’s morality laws banning them from singing in public.

Afghan women have published videos of themselves on social media platforms, singing songs to protest the laws banning them from singing in public under the hashtag “#My_Voice_Is_Not_Forbidden”
Goolsom Effat, member of the Afghan Women's Justice Movement, is one of the women publishing her video on social media platforms from Badakhshan. “We protest the laws by singing songs,” she told NuJINHA.
‘Let’s become our voice’
One of the videos published by Afghan women says, “As members of this movement, we say no to the Taliban’s news laws by singing songs. No to the patriarchal society and gender apartheid in Afghanistan! Let’s become our voice.”
