Makhmur - The Jineology Committee holds a workshop in the Makhmur refugee camp every two years. Th 2nd Workshop of the Makhmur Jineology Committee has kicked off in the camp with the motto, “The 2nd Agricultural and Village Revolution Will Be Achieved by the Science of Jineology ''. After observing a minute’ silence, Songul Guler, member of the Jineology Committee, made the opening speech of the workshop.

“Our aim is to build a paradigm”

“We held a Jineology workshop before and discussed many issues. Today, we will discuss issues in rural areas. Our aim is to build a paradigm. We, as the Jineology Committee, should build the basis of this paradigm. We hold this workshop to discuss this paradigm. We will focus on the culture of our mothers. As women, we should discuss women's culture, women's beliefs and how women’s rights were taken away from women. During the workshop, we will focus on questions such as how did the male-dominant system manage to oppress women? Why does it use violence against women? What kind of ways and methods should we use in order to raise women's awareness in this paradigm?”

At the workshop, the women will discuss the role of women in the revolution and how to get the women’s culture back.
