A women's delegation delivers solidarity letters from the Middle East to the YPJ leadership

A delegation from the Jinology Academy in the Middle East delivered letters of support written by women from the ME to YPJ, in appreciation of their role in defense and women's empowerment.

Al-Hassaka_ The city of Al-Hassaka witnessed notable activity with the launch of wide support campaign for the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), launched by the Joint Events Platform of Women’s Movements and Organizations on April 26.

Women from several countries in the Middle East, including Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, and Yemen, participated in writing solidarity and love letters in support of the women fighters in the YPJ. Within the framework of this campaign, a delegation from the Jinology Academy in the Middle East, composed of six women, visited the YPJ leadership headquarters today, Tuesday, April 28, to deliver the letters officially.

During the visit, Zahida Ma’mo, representative of the Jinology Academy, affirmed that the aim of this step is to deliver messages to the fighters who represent a symbol of women’s struggle in the region.

She pointed out that the YPJ, through its organization and ideology, has been able to leave a profound impact on women around the world, considering that this impact drives many to feel a moral responsibility to support this force.

For her part, Rohlat Afrin, a member of the general command of the YPJ, expressed her appreciation for the support coming from the women of the Middle East, affirming that the revolution led by women aims to protect life and entrench democracy, equality, and women's freedom.

She described this revolution as the first of its kind in the history of Kurdistan, having continued for fifteen years without interruption, stressing the need to preserve its values and gains.

She explained that the Women’s Protection Units have become a highly trusted standard in the eyes of society and public opinion, calling on official authorities to recognize the importance of this role. She pointed out that the danger to women still exists, and that self-defense is an indispensable necessity, especially in light of attempts to marginalize women’s role in the new political and social structure.

A women's force that gives hope for a new Syria

Rohlat Afrin affirmed that the YPJ is based on a long historical legacy, which has made it an active women's force at the regional level. She considered that denying women's power is a denial of their rights, and that the lack of stability in Syria makes defense a fundamental task. The existence of a defensive force composed entirely of women constitutes a glimmer of hope for a more just and balanced Syria.

She stressed that women's organization is the strongest weapon in confronting authoritarian mentality, affirming that the world is closely watching how the YPJ maintains its existence and role. She called for strengthening the power and cohesion of women's organizations as a fundamental pillar in the continuation of the struggle.

According to available information, the YPJ is scheduled to issue a statement in the coming days responding to the messages received from the women of the Middle East.
