Tall Tamer_At a time when the Kurdish people across Kurdistan face policies of exclusion and liquidation, the gains in the four parts are becoming threatened. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the process of integration continues, and there are attempts to ensure that Kurds don’t remain without legal status in the 21st century, but thesr remain insufficient.
The sisters of Kurdish fighters who sacrificed their lives during the Rojava revolution expressed their views on the necessity of unity among Kurdish parties and organizations and achieving Kurdish cohesion.
Maha Saleh, sister of one of the first fighters who fought against Jabjat al-Nusra in the city of Tell Tamer, said:” The goal of our struggle is a free Kurdistan without blood. Our people within Kurdistan have faced genocide and major massacres have occurred, but our people throughout history have always remained steadfast and at the heart of uprising.”
She added: "We have offered many martyrs for the sake of a free life, to preserve our identity and gain our rights. But unfortunately, the free life we built with years of effort is now facing continuous threats and attacks."
Maha Saleh directed an appeal to all mothers across Kurdistan, saying: "Come, let us join hands and fulfill the dreams of our martyrs in establishing a free Kurdistan without blood or wars. For that, the need for unity of the Kurdish people and parties has become more urgent today than ever before."
Tarfa Sido, sister of three fighters in the Syrian Democratic Forces who lost their lives fighting against ISIS, indicated that her family has offered more than 30 fighters (men and women) in Rojava and the self-defense regions for the sake of freedom.
She said: "What falls on the land of divided Kurdistan is not rain, but the blood of our brothers and fighters." She added: "If we had achieved our unity, we would not have faced these attacks. We are failing our martyrs, because every martyr is worth an entire homeland. No matter what we do to achieve their goals, it remains little. If we had true unity, we would have had a free homeland long ago, but we have not united yet."
Calls for Kurdish Unity
She criticized the policies of dividing Kurdistan, affirming that "the land of the Kurds is being divided and partitioned" without recognition of their existence or language, and that "as a Kurdish people in Kurdistan, we no longer accept the fragmentation of Kurds nor internal division. The four parts of Kurdistan must unite so we can achieve our unity."
She also directed a call to Kurdish parties in various parts of Kurdistan, saying: "Come, let us work for our unity, and instead of being hostile to one another, we must unite against our enemies. If we do not achieve our unity, our martyrs will not forgive us. The lack of effort to achieve unity in the parts of Kurdistan cannot be overlooked. The unity of Kurdish parties and the Kurdish people must not remain a deferred goal."
